Level 4 Award in Food Safety Refresher
Course description The Level 4 Refresher Course is aimed at those who have achieved Level 3 and/or Level 4 certification more than 2 years ago. The course has been designed by Isbourne Environmental Ltd which is an accredited training centre with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) for levels 1,2 & 3 courses (ie all levels). Certificates of attendance will be sent to all delegates. Summary of course syllabus The course takes place over a single day and covers the following topics: - General introduction
- Overview of food safety legislation in the UK
- Bacteriology
- Food poisoning & food-borne illness
- Microbiological standards for ready-to-eat foods
- Managing food safety—due diligence, HACCP & auditing
- Detailed group exercise in evaluating HACCP plan
What skills will candidates acquire? Completion of the course will provide delegates with an up-date on essential knowledge acquired when previously attending Level 3 and Level 4 courses. Those who have not previously attended Advanced level courses (ie Level 3 level only) will also benefit from a more in-depth examination of HACCP which is not normally covered on the Level 3 course. The course will help delegates to maintain their training status in the context of legal requirements and in line with industry guide recommendations.
